Dieselgate – how to check if you can claim

In 2015, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) discovered that the Volkswagen Group (VW) had sold diesel cars with software that activated emissions-reducing equipment during testing. With the equipment turned down or off during real-world driving conditions, some VW vehicles released nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions far above legal limits.

VW was not alone when it came to fitting vehicles with these emissions “defeat devices”. Over the past six years, several vehicle manufacturing giants, including Daimler AG (the parent company of Mercedes-Benz) and Vauxhall, have been accused of cheating emissions testing.

Dieselgate has caused irreparable harm to our environment and human health. What’s more, the affected vehicles are likely worth less than people paid for them. Drivers may also have experienced higher fuel bills and maintenance costs. In response, Keller Lenkner UK is helping owners and lessors of affected vehicles in England and Wales claim damages.

What car manufacturers are involved?

Several carmakers are accused of using cheat devices. If you owned or leased a diesel vehicle made by one of the following manufacturers, you could have a diesel emissions claim with Keller Lenkner UK:
